An example project of the vertical forest emerged first in Milano in 2014. Given the project, there are two high-rise buildings with a green tone. Also, these buildings contain a lot of floras which are mostly plants with perennials. That is why green and its different shades come first in urban environments. By the way, this concept adopts organic-living sustainability ideas instead of futuristic ideas.

Considering its ideas, the buildings and their surroundings have an effective shield that protects the perilous impacts of the sun. Also, all plants cancel out the greenhouse effect thanks to enhancing the oxygen level. Besides, these buildings are such proper projects that they compensate the perimeter of 50 km area by balancing the climate. So the city in which you live keeps safe from reproducing of buildings disfiguring the city silhouette.

In terms of increasing the living population, these type of buildings attracts all kinds of living species such as birds, insects, pollinators. Generally, grown plants in different places while being young in a way that they could not be an alien to the climate of the buildings. The plants’ color changes from season to season. So you experience visual satisfaction at the same time. Dealing with the plants belongs to building residents. Naturally, mother nature is in charge of the irrigation.

Hotel Golden Holiday in Nha Trang

Interestingly, there is a hotel that is related to the concept of vertical green buildings in Nha Trang. This hotel is not only near the ocean breeze but also has a tropical climate. So it has a sweet atmosphere owing to the perfect combination of two advantages. With these advantages, the hotel needs some architectural touches. To illustrate, the hotel has got twelve openings in the middle of the left side facade of the building. Whereby the fresh air and natural light enter inside the hotel with the help of these openings. That is why the hotel has an authentic air conditioner. Besides, this design reduces the loss of energy and benefits natural light resources. The hotel has facades with green balconies as well as openings. The selection of the hotel’s flora will also be a critical strategy to beautify the outlook of the hotel.

Modular Timber Tower

Another green project is the ‘tree tower’ from Toronto. Modular architecture inspired the construction idea of the tower. Just like skyrocket modules and legos in a sense used in the tree tower construction. Given its structure material, mostly mixed-timber is used. For that reason, the tree tower is easily integrating the city into nature. The two-third of the building serves individual apartments. The rest of it is a classic meeting point for people. By the way, using timber as a material is an investment for the future. When other industrial materials are on the verge of scarcity, timber will play an important role in architecture.

Sunflower-Inspired Residential Tower

An amazing green project is also from Quito. In this section, architects used the sunflower model when they shape as vertical green projects. Likewise, this project is also focused on the balance between urban life and natural life. Because of the mathematical position of the city, approximately 90-degree sunlight falls on the city. So this situation allows the building to develop biodiversity. Therefore, the building becomes a natural reservoir. Another significant point is the ample use of arches in that project. Thus, postmodern architecture and medieval architecture perfectly match each other.

An interesting project is also from Hyderabad. This project gets inspired by Indian architecture such as the water labyrinth and well-step. In that part, a site complex of green high-rise villas is dazzling in that project. If you look at this project closely, you will see 127 duplex villas and double-story terraces. Furthermore, there is a strip of grass in balconies and a modular planter system for terraces. Besides, this building with plenty of plants and herbs are consists of a cooling system. Herewith, you can put all kinds of plants at will. The architect in that project reckoned as to how to build a private house with a garden.

Vertical Forest Towers in Nanjing

A similar project is from Nanjing. There is a vertical forest is constituted of the two-mixed tower. Over 1000 different plants are on both of the towers. Whereby the area where the towers located cleans and its biodiversity population increases. The botanic life of the towers varies from tall trees to cascading vines and shrubs. That is why a considerable amount of oxygen level increases while the carbon dioxide level reduces. Not only the project contributes positively to its environment but also the project itself is multi-aimed. To illustrate, hotels, schools, museums, conference halls, markets, restaurants, and so on. Eventually, the project is for long-term and pro-environment. All kinds of activity could be done without almost damage the atmosphere.

Another project is from Tel-Aviv. This green project gets inspired by old architecture and Bauhaus. The spirit of this project refuses the plaza tower’s idea. I mean full-glass facade is not compatible with the Mediterranean climate. 116-meter high building contains up to 4 bedrooms including duplex penthouses. As of its construction, some terraces are open, others are with sun protection due to their geometrical design. The arches and layered terraces are pretty noticeable in that project. Therefore, this provides the project with both openness and shelter. The design of the project is based on a modular system. For that reason, its all cost is low.
