DIY Birdcage Flower Planters

For birdcage flower planters, you will need a decorative birdcage first. For this, you can buy a new one but using an old one will be better for recycling. You can also buy old birdcages via some online stores such as Amazon and Etsy. While you are looking for a birdcage, it will be better to check the size of the cage since the size of the cage is important for your plants. Apart from using the regular size birdcage, you can also use small ones for creating miniature birdcage planters. In addition, you should check that the birdcage is made of durable materials for outdoor places. It is also recommended to use paints for rust protection as well.

When you are done with the cage, you should find a liner or soil container, which will help to keep the soil inside the cage. After that, you can put proper potting soils in accordance with the plant that you want. In this sense, you can also put your flower pots into the birdcage as an alternative idea. There are different kinds of plants for this amazing project such as succulent, creeping jenny, geranium, alternantheras, fuchsia, bacopas, and calibrachoa. After the steps mentioned above, you should wait to see the amazing results.

Birdcage flower planters will look stunning when the plants spill out of the cage. Also, birdcage flower planters will beautify your outdoor spaces such as the veranda, porch, patio, garden, balcony, and terrace. Moreover, they are a pretty gift for your friends on special days. You will see beautiful examples here and hope you will enjoy this easy project.

I went through the entire lists you have and still I did not see a example on how to make a bird cage up. What about if the cage is outside then how do you prevent the rusting through the bottom ?

Hello Gladys, thank you for contacting us. You may use old or new birdcage. You will basically put your planter into a birdcage. To prevent your birdcage from rust, you should paint it with oil paint. Have a good day!
