There are different types of planters made by several sources of materials such as old shoes, plastic bottles, pallets, and teacups. However, you can also turn a piece of wood into a planter for your favorite flowers and plants. By means of log planters, your outdoor and indoor places will have a natural-authentic look.

DIY Log Planters

For good-looking log planters, you should first carve out the wood. After this part, it is better to put a small amount of charcoal on the bottom of the wood log planter for air filtration and drainage. Moreover, you can add some potting soils for your plants. Now it is almost ready but it will be better to move log planters often until the plants hold onto the ground. Proper watering is another issue of course. For this, you should wait until the soil gets dry out completely for another one. You can take these planters as packaged or you can try them as a DIY project. If you decided to do it yourself, you can use a wood carving chisel set or an electrical wood carving machine in order to carve the wood. You should be careful about your hands when using hand carving sets for minimizing any injuries. As another safety instruction, you should use a plastic mallet or hammer.
