We all heard about the open-air or drive-in cinema and if you have been in any of two, you can take yourself as lucky. Nowadays, only a few places continue this tradition, so it is a little bit difficult to find a place in which you can watch movies in the open air. What if you have a small open-air cinema or movie theatre in the backyard? I am sure it would be an amazing experience especially for those who love watching movies.
If you have a movie theatre or open-air cinema in your backyard, you can arrange different activities or parties for birthdays or some special days. Also, you can use your backyard movie theatre for some special romantic moments as it is in Hollywood movies.
What will you need to set up a movie theatre in the backyard?
1) A projector or any device which can project your movie on the screen.
2) A video source (could be a laptop, a smartphone or other devices).
3) A speaker or Bluetooth headphones.
4) A small table or a box to put your projector on.
5) A proper size of white shade or pull-down screen.
6) Any kind of frame for your shade or pull-down screen.
8) Something to drink or eat (snacks, popcorns).
Set up your connections
If you have those materials, you can start to set up your backyard movie theatre. Firstly, you should find the right location in the backyard. After finding a suitable place, you can mount your white shade or pull-down screen. At this point, you can make stable your shade (better on the wall) with ropes from 4 angles. In addition, you can put your shade or pull-down screen into a wooden or metal frame so that you can watch your movie without any shaking. Besides, if you have a proper wall for projection in your backyard, you no longer need any shades or pull-down screen. After finishing the projection phase, you can set up your devices and make cable connections (video source-projector-speaker or headphone). Now, it is time to prepare your lounging space in which you can watch your movies comfortably.

You can use your movie theatre whenever you want for any events or special moments. Of course, you should be ready for different air conditions and it will be better to use portative and easily moveable materials. I hope you will have precious times with your movie theatre in the backyard.
