We wrote about pots made from tin cans, or pot ideas made using teacups or plastic bottles. If these flower pot ideas do not satisfy you visually, you can cover the outside by using crochet with different patterns. Therefore, today, I am going to elaborate on how to cover your small pot with beautiful crochet planter cover patterns.

What do you need for a crochet planter cover basket?

  • A small amount of yarn depending on your size of the pot (could be a T-shirt yarn with different colors)
  • 9mm hook
  • Planters (could be clay pots, tin can, teacup or any other suitable ones)
  • Plants (succulent, cactus and aloe vera would be more suitable or you can use any kind)

After gathering the necessary materials, you should first measure your crochet basket size. After basket measurement, you can start to process. As you see in the image below (according to U.S. crochet terms), you should start with a magical ring.  For the following step, the first round contains 8 stitches and for each extra round, you should add 8 more stitches again. During the processing, you can use different colored yarn and patterns. This totally depends on your skills and imagination. After finishing the processing, you can put your planter into your crochet basket. If you are experienced in crochet processing, this crochet planter cover will be very enjoyable and easy for you.

The approximate measurements of the crochet basket above: Diameter: 12 cm, Height: 14 cm.

This crochet planter cover pattern will be a nice outfit for your beautiful planter. If you want, you can use them as gifts for your friends. Besides, the processing is very useful for memory and mental flexibility, so you can encourage your children to perform this pot cover idea. Enjoy it.
